The walk takes about half an hour and is physically quite demanding. The total altitude gained is 130 meters, but there are a couple of nice views on the way up. <a href=\"https:\/\/en.mapy.cz\/s\/babutemugu\">Short and steep route to Pet\u0159\u00edn Hill on a map<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>The gentle way  <span style=\"color:#f92845\">\u2b24<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Another way to get to Pet\u0159\u00edn Hill is from Poho\u0159elec, where you can get from \u00dajezd with routes 22 or 23. From there, the route is longer but gentler (43 meters of altitude difference) and takes you through <a href=\"https:\/\/www.strahovskyklaster.cz\/en\">Strahov monastery<\/a> and the Pet\u0159\u00edn park. <a href=\"https:\/\/en.mapy.cz\/s\/bupukomuza\">Long and gentle route to Pet\u0159\u00edn Hill on a map<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>The flat way  <span style=\"color:#2586fe\">\u2b24<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>The easiest way to get to the top of Pet\u0159in is either from stop Koleje Strahov or Stadion Strahov. Buses 143 or 149 will take you to Koleje Strahov from Dejvick\u00e1 (metro A) or Malovanka (tram 22). You can also take bus 176 from Karlovo n\u00e1m\u011bst\u00ed (metro B) or \u0160vandovo divadlo (trams 9, 12, 15 and 20) to the final stop of Stadion Strahov. Both stops, Stadion and Koleje, are right next to the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Great_Strahov_Stadium\">Great Strahov Stadium<\/a>, the largest stadium in the world, although now defunct and serving as a sports training centre. The funicular departs every 15 minutes between November and March and 10 minutes otherwise. <a href=\"\/en\/lines\/funicular\/\">See the current timetable<\/a>. Every spring and autumn there is a three-week maintenance break.\n\nThe funicular is operated by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dpp.cz\/en\/entertainment-and-experience\/events-and-attractions\/funicular-to-petrin\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dopravn\u00ed podnik hl. m. Prahy<\/a>\n\n\n<h2>Fare<\/h2>\n\n\nA special fare applies for the funicular: <strong>60 K\u010d<\/strong> per one ride. There are no discounted tickets.\n\nHowever, the following passengers may ride the funicular for free:\n\n\n<ul>\n \t\n\n<li>with a <a href=\"\/en\/tickets-and-fare\/#prague-shortterm\">24 hour or 72 hour ticket<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n \t\n\n<li>with a <a href=\"\/en\/tickets-and-fare\/#prague-longterm\">long-term subscription ticket<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n \t\n\n<li>who are <a href=\"\/en\/discounts\/\">eligible to travel for free<\/a> on the rest of Prague's public transport<\/li>\n\n\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n\n<h2>Accessibility<\/h2>\n\n\nThe funicular is <strong>not<\/strong> wheelchair accessible, it is necessary to traverse a staircase. On the top of the hill, you can visit the Pet\u0159\u00edn observation tower. A mirror maze can be entered at the base of the tower. There is a large park and countless gardens on the Pet\u0159\u00edn slope, where you can discover various romantic corners or continue by walking to Prague castle. The side of the hill is defended by the Hunger wall built by the Holy Roman Emperor Charles IV.
