These offer a quick way to travel not only across Prague&#8217;s borders, but within the city as well.<\/p>\n<p>Trains where PID fare applies are operating under <a href=\"\/en\/lines\/trains\/\">S lines (stopping everywhere) and R lines (rapid)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_19227\" style=\"width: 1034px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/pid.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/mapy\/schemata-trvala\/Esko-schema.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-19227\" class=\"wp-image-19227 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/pid.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/mapy\/schemata-trvala\/Esko-schema.png\" alt=\"Schematic map of train lines that run under PID fare\" width=\"1024\" height=\"724\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-19227\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Map of PID train lines<\/p><\/div>\n<h2>Fare<\/h2>\n<p>Trains are a part of the same fare system as trams, metro, buses with some <a href=\"#exceptions\">exceptions<\/a>.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"\/en\/tickets-and-fare\/#prague\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fare in Prague<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"\/en\/tickets-and-fare\/#region\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Fare in the Region<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Apart form the <a href=\"\/en\/tickets-and-fare\/how-to-buy-ticket\/#litacka-ticket\">L\u00edta\u010dka electronic ticket<\/a>, using paper tickets is also possible. You can buy paper tickets in advance and then stamp them on your way back.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/en\/tickets-and-fare\/how-to-buy-ticket\/#train\">More on buying tickets on the railway<\/a>. It may not be possible to buy PID fare at all stops. If there is not a ticket office desk at the train stop, you can buy the ticket on board of the train from the train conductor (or train driver on the small trains) without a surcharge. Ask for a PID ticket specifically because the conductors sell the train operator&#8217;s fare by default.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"exceptions\">Exceptions<\/h3>\n<p>PID fare is applicable only on train sections incorporated into the PID system \u2013 this concerns long distance trains that reach out of PID region and local trains near PID system borders. Check the <a href=\"\/en\/lines\/trains\/\">timetables<\/a> (the <em>Tarifn\u00ed p\u00e1smo<\/em> signifies the zone number, if it is empty &#8220;\u2013&#8221;, that stop is not in PID system) or the <a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/mapy\/schemata-trvala\/Esko-schema.pdf\">map<\/a> for the extent of PID service.<\/p>\n<h3>Using a PID ticket<\/h3>\n<p>You can use all valid PID tickets if they are valid for the intended journey in terms of zone and time validity:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A paper ticket from a ticket machine, PID\/DPP ticket counter, bus driver \u2013 if the tickets has no time indicated on it, it <a href=\"\/en\/tickets-and-fare\/how-to-buy-ticket\/#validate-ticket\">needs to be stamped<\/a>. Stamping machines are either on or near train platforms or on board of some trains \u2013 <a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/mapy\/schemata-trvala\/Esko-schema.pdf\"\">check the map<a\/><\/li>\n<li>PID ticket purchased at the train station in the \u010cD ticket office \u2013 this ticket does not need to be stamped. The ticket is valid from the time and fare zone of purchase, or you can ask for a different beginning of validity.<\/li>\n<li>Ticket purchased from the train crew \u2013 this ticket does not need to be stamped, it is valid from the time and zone of boarding the train (a surcharge is added if the stop where you boarded has an opened ticket office<\/li>\n<li>Ticket purchased in the mobile app <a href=\"\">L\u00edta\u010dka<\/a> \u2013 the ticket must be activated in the app at least one minute before the train&#8217;s arrival.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The following tickets and discounts are <strong>not<\/strong> valid in PID trains:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>SMS ticket<\/li>\n<li>Discount for a person accompanying a child 0\u2013<span class=\"with-note\" title=\"Until the day before the child's 3rd birthday.\">3 years<\/span> old.<\/li>\n<li>Free carriage of dogs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 id=\"isPasted\">On which stations I can buy tickets?<\/h3>\n<p>The PID system includes only passenger and express trains and selected fast and express lines \u2013 always only 2nd carriage class.
