When buying a ticket from a railway ticket counter, specifically ask for a PID ticket. Tickets from the ticket office are valid from the moment of purchase, have their validity already printed on them, therefore they don&#8217;t have to be validated anymore.<\/p>\n<p>Payment is possible both by cash and cards.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"https:\/\/pid.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/jizdenka_pokladna_CD.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/pid.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/jizdenka_pokladna_CD_thumb.webp\" width=\"150px\" height=\"300px\"><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<h3 id=\"city-vehicle\">Trams, urban buses, trolleybuses (Prague transport)<\/h3>\n<p>In <a href=\"\/en\/lines\/trams\/\">trams<\/a>, <a href=\"\/en\/lines\/urban-buses\/\">urban buses<\/a> and <a href=\"\/en\/lines\/trolleybuses\/\">trolleybuses<\/a>, a touchscreen terminal sells full-price and \/half-price tickets for Prague with the time validity of 30 minutes, 90 minutes or 24 hours. These tickets are valid from the moment of purchase, have their validity already printed on them, therefore they don&#8217;t have to be validated anymore. The terminal accepts only contactless payments.<\/p>\n<p>In urban buses and trollybuses, the terminal is always located by the second door. The driver checks tickets during boarding. If the passenger does not have a ticket, they can purchase a ticket from the driver. In suburban\/regional buses the driver accepts coins and banknotes up to 200 CZK and contactless payment cards. Tickets from the driver are valid from the moment of purchase, have their validity already printed on them, therefore they don&#8217;t have to be validated anymore.<\/p>\n<h3 id=\"train\">Trains<\/h3>\n<p>On <a href=\"\/en\/lines\/trains\/\">trains<\/a> operated by carriers \u010cesk\u00e9 dr\u00e1hy, K\u017dC Doprava, Die L\u00e4nderbahn CZ and on route S49 it is possible to buy a ticket from the train conductor. When buying a ticket from the conductor, specifically ask for a PID ticket. Tickets from the train conductor are valid from the moment of purchase, have their validity already printed on them, therefore they don&#8217;t have to be validated anymore.<br \/>\n<b>ATTENTION: If the passenger travels from station with an opened ticket counter, the train conductor may impose a charge on the fare according to the fare of the railway carrier,<\/b> so preferably purchase tickets at the ticket counters. <\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"https:\/\/pid.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/POP.webp\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/pid.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/POP_thumb.webp\"><\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/pid.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/jizdenka_POP.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/pid.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/jizdenka_POP_thumb.webp\" width=\"150px\" height=\"300px\"><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p><center><b>Stations with a ticket counter are <u>underlined<\/u> in the following map:<\/b><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/pid.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/mapy\/schemata-trvala\/a3_tarifni_pasma_vlak.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/pid.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/mapy\/schemata-trvala\/a3_tarifni_pasma_vlak.png\" width=\"350px\" height=\"300px\"><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<h3 id=\"validate-ticket\">Validating the ticket<\/h3>\n<p>To use a ticket, it must be validated \u2013 it must have the start of validity and fare zone printed on it. Tickets sold on board of vehicles, touchscreen terminals and railway ticker counters are valid immediately from the moment of purchase and you don&#8217;t have to do anything else with them.<br \/>\nTickets sold from ticket machines, information centres and ticket offices <strong>must be validated on entering the vehicle or the subway paid area! The subway paid area is commonly marked by a white line on the ground and accompanied by stamping validation machines.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color:red;\">Tickets must be validated (stamped) exactly once, on the first use, otherwise the ticket is invalid!<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><b>Tickets must be validated facing up in the direction of the arrow as shown in the video below.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><center><video style=\"max-width: 100%; max-height: 600px\" controls><source src=\"https:\/\/pid.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/oznaceni-jizdenky.mp4\" type=\"video\/mp4\"><\/video><\/center><\/p>\n<h3 id=\"litacka-ticket\">PID L\u00edta\u010dka mobile app<\/h3>\n<p>All types of tickets can also be purchased in the L\u00edta\u010dka mobile application available for <a href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/details?id=cz.dpp.praguepublictransport\">Android<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/cz\/app\/pid-litacka\/id983071129?mt=8\">iOS<\/a>. You can also search for connections, buy a long-term ticket, pay for parking and more.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color:red;\"><b>ATTENTION: For security reasons, all tickets purchased through L\u00edta\u010dka app become valid one minute after their activation. During this minute, the ticket is active (it cannot be canceled), but it not valid yet. If a passenger enters a vehicle\/paid area in the subway with an active ticket within the one-minute activation period, they may be fined by ticket inspectors. Please activate the ticket well before the arrival of the vehicle.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The ticket in the app can be purchased with the following activation modes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Manually:<\/b> The ticket will be stored inactive in reserve. When you will need to use the ticket, you can activate it manually. This is similar to buying a paper ticket in advance.<\/li>\n<li><b>Immediately after purchase:<\/b> The ticket will be activated (it cannot be canceled) immediately after purchase, however, it will be valid after one minute from its activation.\n<li><b>At a pre-planned time:<\/b> When buying the ticket, you can specify the time, when the ticket will be valid. The ticket will be activated (it cannot be canceled) at a certain time. If the chosen time is less than 1 minutes after purchased, there will be an activation period just as described in the paragraph above.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The mobile application must have an internet connection when paying for the ticket and when activating the ticket. Once activated, a ticket (with the countdown going on) does not need internet connection to be valid.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/app.pidlitacka.cz\/o-aplikaci\">More information about PID L\u00edta\u010dka mobile app<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"buy-pass\">How to buy long-term tickets and passes<\/h2>\n<p>Long-term tickets are available for <a href=\"\/en\/tickets-and-fare\/#prague-longterm\">Prague<\/a> and <a href=\"\/en\/tickets-and-fare\/#region-longterm\">the Region<\/a> with the time validity of 1 month, 3 months, 10 months or 1 year. To use long-term tickets, obtaining a Pass is necessary.
