All-door boarding – expansion to an additional 50 routes and transition to permanent status starting August 1, 2026.

Following the successful evaluation of a one-year trial run on PID suburban and regional bus routes, all-door boarding will become permanent on the existing 122 lines starting August 1, 2026, while simultaneously expanding to another 50 bus routes.
This expansion will cover, for example, the Prague–Příbram and Prague–Benešov–Vlašim connections, as well as routes serving the Brandýs, Český Brod, Nymburk, Kostelec nad Černými lesy, and Říčany areas, and local services in Beroun–Králův Dvůr and Milovice.
The project – based on placing greater trust in passengers while simultaneously stepping up ticket inspections – has delivered the expected acceleration of operations and improved travel comfort, all while resulting in a significantly smaller impact on revenue than originally anticipated. All-door boarding will be available on the majority of suburban lines departing from Prague, as well as on other busy and frequently used regional routes, particularly in the areas surrounding the capital.

How do you know that you can board through all doors?

What do you have to do?
- Do you have a valid ticket? You can board through any door.
- Don’t have a ticket? Board through the front door and buy one from the driver.
- Expect more frequent inspector checks on these lines.
Practical tips for traveling safely
- Have your ticket ready before boarding—either a paper ticket or the PID Lítačka app (this ticket must already be valid upon boarding and after the expiry of the one-minute grace period). Paper tickets must be validated immediately after boarding if they have not been validated already.

Note that within the Central Bohemian Region, the surcharges for traveling without a valid ticket are higher than in Prague: 1,500 CZK if paid on the spot; 2,000 CZK if paid within 15 days via bank transfer or at a payment office; or 2,500 CZK after that period has expired.

Implementing all-door boarding is a significant step toward modern, efficient, and convenient suburban transport. However, the success of this change also depends on each of us – being considerate, paying the fare, and respecting the rules is the best contribution you can make to the smooth operation, speed, and comfort of public transport.
